Baking basics for Christmas (16+)

The Link, 51-53 Beancroft Road, Castleford, WF10 5BP

Face to Face Recovery College Courses

This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the basic skills involved in baking, but this time with a Christmas spin!

In small groups, with dedicated facilitators, students will learn about the techniques and equipment used in baking, how to weigh and measure, how to follow a recipe and health, safety and hygiene in the kitchen. Students will bake a different festive product each week, such as shortbread and mince pies, in a relaxed setting (perhaps even with a Christmas song or two along the way!).

The Recovery and Wellbeing College will provide all ingredients for the basic recipes we will make, but if you wish to embellish these in any way (adding decorations or a different flavour for example), you will need to provide these yourself. You will also need to bring your own container with you to each session to take your baked goods home with you each week.

As this is a food-based course, it is imperative that you let us know about any allergies or intolerances you have prior to attending.
