Couch to 5K

Expanding your interests

Over the course of 8 weeks we  will take you from total running beginner through to completing a 5km Parkrun event. We will follow the NHS Couch to 5K scheme to progress steadily and develop both running technique and fitness. This course is a fun introduction to running where the experienced and UKA qualified leaders will provide support and encouragement throughout to help you on your running journey.

Who knows, you might be tackling half marathons next (some of our previous participants have gone on to do this!).

Please note:  You will need to dress in comfortable clothes and trainer appropriate for exercising in, as well as a bottle of water. During this course, you will be expected to participate for 9 weeks, and will need to run three times a week. At least one of your running sessions will need to be with your Recovery College group at one of the advertised sessions below (Mondays or Wednesdays) but you are welcome to join both.

How do I enrol?

You are not referred to the Recovery College, you can simply enrol yourself, or on behalf of someone, for any of our courses that may be of interest to you. Our courses are open to all adults and we welcome carers, supporters and professionals too.
