Would you like to help us improve the dementia offer with the Recovery College?

Wakefield Recovery and Wellbeing College

December 3, 2025

We would like to invite you, and your carer or family member, if you wish, to help us improve the support we offer at the Recovery College for people living with dementia and their carers/ families.

As part of this study, we are particularly looking to speak with people from Muslim backgrounds who either live with dementia or care for someone with dementia, as we want to better understand your experiences and how the College can be more responsive to the needs of Muslim communities.

Researchers from the University of Bradford and the University of Liverpool are working with us to learn about people’s real experiences of living with dementia and using the College. Your views would be very valuable.

You can choose to take part in:

  1. A one-to-one chat (interview)

A relaxed conversation about your experience.

  • About 1 hour
  • At your home, at the College or virtually online.
  • You can bring someone with you
  • You choose if you want to be video-recorded, audio-recorded, or not recorded at all
  1. A co-design workshop (group session)

A half-day event at the College where people living with dementia, carers, staff, and local Muslim faith/ community leaders come together to share ideas on how to make our services better.

You can choose one or both. Taking part is completely voluntary, and you can stop at any time.

If you are interested or would like more information, please reply to this email or contact:
