Do you or your team need support to stay well at work? Whether you’re currently employed, on sick leave, or feeling at risk of needing time off, our social prescribing service is here to help. We offer one-to-one support and tailored workshops for both employees and employers, helping you navigate non medical barriers and connect with local resources to improve your wellbeing. Our service is available to people aged 18-66, who live in the Wakefield district or is registered with a Wakefield district GP, is employed but currently on sick leave, and/or is living with a long-term health condition, and/or is feeling at risk of needing sick leave.

What is Social Prescribing? Social prescribing is a personalised approach to wellbeing. It helps individuals access local, non-clinical support to address social factors that may be affecting their health and ability to work. This could include help with housing, finances, mental health, or lifestyle changes.

Understanding the Impact of Absence – Absence from work can be caused by a range of factors; some of which are preventable with the right support. Our service helps you:

  • Explore the social factors that impact wellbeing
  • Hold meaningful conversations with employers about your needs
  • Take preventative approaches to absence
  • Discover local support options to stay well, return to work, and prevent future absences
